There are two ways that you can donate money: as a one-time donation, or as a monthly contribution. Either way, you will receive a political contributions receipt at tax time if your donations exceed $50 or by request for smaller amounts.
You get a much better tax deduction for a political donation than you do for a charitable donation. You get 75% of your first $200 donation back on your taxes, 50% of the next $900, and 33% of the $1,200 after that.
Elections Alberta restricts how much you can donate in politics. The maximum is $4,243 split between political parties, constituency associations, candidates, nomination contestants, and party leadership contestants. Senate candidates and local elections for council and school board don't count against this.
Elections Alberta only lets us accept contributions from people who live in Alberta. As a result, we will have to ask you for your address.
You can make a one-time donation by clicking on this link here. It will let you make a donation in multiples of $10, up to 99 times. That is a maximum donation of $990 off of one button click. We are very sorry if you would like to donate more - it is a limitation of the technology we are using, and you will just need to enter your information again.
Please follow this link to make an ongoing donation. Again, you will be able to make a monthly contribution in multiples of $10 per month.
Thank you very much for supporting your local Constituency Association. Every dollar gets us that much closer to our goal - electing a Wildrose Independence Party MLA, and heading towards independence!
